Primary symptoms of Empty Nose Syndrome

Sufferers will have a variety of symptoms including:

  • paradoxical obstruction
  • feeling of suffocation
  • nasal dryness
  • bleeding
  • crusting
  • lack of sensation of nasal airflow
  • breathlessness
  • sensation of too much air entering the nose and pharynx
  • weakened airflow
  • dizziness
  • diminished sense of smell and/or taste
  • lack of mucus
  • thick post-nasal drip
  • palpitations
  • nasal inflammation and pain
  • fatigue

These physical symptoms often cause other problems such as:

  • sleep disorders, daytime sleepiness
  • difficulty concentrating
  • feelings of anxiety and depression
